There is an old familiar saying in the wine business: “It takes a lot of great beer to make great wine!” Winemakers, cellar workers, and grape pickers alike rarely reach for a nice big glass of red wine in the middle of harvest. Wine is quite delicious, but not very refreshing on a hot summer day. The beverage of choice during harvest is BEER! Ice-cold, refreshing, and thirst-quenching BEER!

If that works for making wine, we figured it was the same for drinking wine…so kick off this wine drinking weekend with some great beer.

North Wet Session;  Wet Coast Cream Ale;  Mosaic Single Hop IPA; Overnight Felon Black IPA, Strong Ale

Cheese Stuffed Gougeres; Green Papaya Salad; Brisket & Succotash;   Fish & Chips

Tickets are $70 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity.

As part of the celebration of this year’s Gig Harbor Food and Wine festival, we are hosting a dinner pairing a unique selection of white and red burgundy wines on Friday July 22, 2016 beginning at 6:30pm on the patio. To guide us through these great wines, Bill Elbring of North Berkeley Imports will be here. Bill is a California-based French wine guru, an avid cyclist and gardener, but devotes most of his waking hours to understanding and communicating the joys of artisanal wines from all over France. He will share the back stories of the wines featured at the dinner and will also provide insights that make Burgundy easier to buy, age and pair with home cooked meals. Bill’s passion is contagious…this will be an evening you won’t soon forget!
